London – The Ukrainian president, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, said Tuesday that Russian President Vladimir Putin is preparing for “new offensive operations” despite the imminent Peace Summit on Friday in Alaska.
The fierce first -line combat and the attacks of long -range and missile aircraft are ongoing while the United States and Russia prepare for Friday meeting. Ukrainian representatives are not expected to attend, although a source in the Zelenskyy office told ABC News on Monday that “everything is very fluid.”
Zelenskyy and his officials have made a diplomatic offensive before the meeting, trying to underpin foreign support behind Ukraine’s key demands in any peace agreement.
On Monday, Zelenskyy suggested that Putin is not ready to finish the fight, despite Friday’s meeting in Alaska.
Citing a report of his intelligence and military commands, Zelenskyy said in a statement that Putin “is definitely not being prepared for a high fire or the end of the war. Putin is determined only to present a meeting with the United States as his personal victory and then continue acting exactly as before, applying the same pressure in Ukraine as before.”

“Until now, there are no indications that the Russians have received signals to prepare for a postwar situation,” he added. “On the contrary, they are reducing their troops and forces so that they suggest preparations for new offensive operations.”
“If someone is preparing for peace, this is not what it does,” said Zelenskyy.
Zelenskyy has said that kyiv will not give up any territory to Russia, will not abandon its NATO ambitions and will not allow any limitation in its armed forces.
Among Moscow’s demands are that Ukraine yields several regions, not all of which are controlled by Russian troops, in the south and east of the country, accept curbs on the size and sophistication of their military and are permanently excluded from NATO. Putin also wants all international sanctions to Russia to be lifted in case of a peace agreement.
Russia’s demands, said Zelenskyy, constitutes an attempt to “partition Ukraine.”
President Donald Trump described the next summit on Monday as a “feeling meeting”, telling journalists “I will talk to Vladimir, and I will tell him:” You have to finish this war. You have to finish it. “
“And at the end of that meeting, probably in the first two minutes, I will know exactly whether or not you can make an agreement,” Trump said.
When asked how he would know if an agreement is possible, the president replied: “Because that’s what I do. I do deals.”
